It's important for anyone who is seeking counseling to be comfortable about their choice and be able to make a personal connection. Identifying with a person involves recognizing experiences that you may have in common. My philosophy is it's difficult to help people through situations that you may not have experienced yourself.
To help you in making that choice, let me share a little about myself. I'm a born-again Christian, a wife, a mother, a co-pastor and a counselor. I gave my life to Christ when I was quite young, but truly surrendered when I was about 41. I have experienced the pain of abuse, divorce and abortion as well as the demonic forces of drugs and alcohol. God took my past and used if for His glory. Through the trials and challenges of my past a ministry developed. My husband, of 26+ years, and I started a bible based ministry over 14 years ago. We have come across many hurting people, especially marriages, in our years of pastoring. God birthed a hunger in me to help couples identify His desire and purpose for marriage and in addition, help them to see their value. (Jer. 29:11)
I have a Bachelors in Business, a Masters in Corporate Training and Knowledge Management and a Masters in Biblical Counseling. God has taken all of this and created a very unique and relational counseling style that meets people where they are but allows them to hear truth about who He is so they can make a decision on their spiritual life.
